Privateer 3 'Lethal Force'

Privateer Page 3. The Captain of the black thumb really does not cope well under pressure.

To inform:
A plasma cannon is a weapon of terrible power, with a single shot it can topple buildings, melt through steal and pass through flesh as though it were mere air. They are also cripplingly expensive, partly due to heavy taxes and partly to do with manufacture. To produce 1 plasma cannon takes substantial numbers of exceedingly powerful magnets. These magnets are made using super conductive wire which is very costly to produce. This incredible fire-power at such great cost means that a twelve gun ship is actually quite powerful, most freighters have only 1 plasma cannon for protection, if that, as auto-guns are far cheaper and sometimes more effective. As a warship however the Black Thumb is distinctly underpowered compared to the Destroyers and Dreadnoughts of the galaxy, but they are never sent after mere smugglers.
To man each plasma cannon takes at least 6 skilled gunners and the Imperial Navy states that there must be no less than 8 on any imperial ship. The crew of the Black Thumb is 105 men and women, all human.
